Well I thought it was about time to share a few pics of the Farmers office, its taken a few months to settle in admittingly and is good to see the space is really starting to take shape with some good ideas being realized. Id also like to congratulate our two super farmers abroad for working hard and being seemingly endlessly productive which has gained them entry to participate in the Subvision festival in Hamburg, Germany this September.

The Russian Frost Farmers are proud to notify of their acceptance to the international Artist initiative festival, Subvision Kunst Off 09.
Hamburg will host 31 invited organisations from 19 countries, in a series of exhibitions and forums aimed to explore strategies of presenting and mediating art.
International recognition is testament to The Russian Frost Farmers collective efforts over the organisations formative two years. Diversity within our practice has engaged a new global audience. Most recently we have undertaken research focused within Middle-Eastern non commercial art space. This research, coupled with our own unique model of transient exhibiting has gained us invitation to Subvisions 09.
Within Subvisions we wish to further develop potential international collaborative projects which we aim to realise over the coming year. Upon return to New Zealand a Wellington exhibition and series of workshops are planned to open our recent experiences to the wider creative community.
We are grateful for the support to date from our New Zealand audience and peers.
We look forward to representing Wellington, New Zealand Aotearoa within this international event.
Regards
The Russian Frost Farmers

Defending Decisions, 2005
Scouring the Paper Power section of the saatchi-gallery website for inspiration i happened across this fella Christian Holstad. His technique of production involves rubbing out certain areas of newspaper clippings and leaving other portions untouched, in doing so he managers to detach the original context of the image and dramatically recontextualize it to his own ends. tricky.
